I have made a new Apple ID on my iPhone and I'm wanting to change is on my MacBook, but having problems changing it and I don't know where to start. It Is also saying I need to put my old password in to match my old email but I can't remember it

Did you try using the links I posted to recover the password? If you can recover the password, use the article below as a guide of where to sign out of the old ID and then sign in with the new ID.

If you can't sign out of the old ID, do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart). Run Disk Utility/First Aid. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase. Use Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button, and select GUID. Quit Disk Utility, then re-install the OS.
When you reboot, use Setup Assistant to restore your data.

i don’t know how to change my apple ID to my current apple ID on my MacBook

You are welcome. During the setup, if it asks if you want to sign into iCloud, skip that step, and sign in later using the new ID.
am i basically resetting my Mac? or is that different
