Apple ID

I have made a new Apple ID on my iPhone and I'm wanting to change is on my MacBook, but having problems changing it and I don't know where to start. It Is also saying I need to put my old password in to match my old email but I can't remember it

If you made a new Apple ID, then your old one still is active. Apparently you need the related password. So, see:

If you can't sign out of the old ID, do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart). Run Disk Utility/First Aid. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase. Use Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button, and select GUID. Quit Disk Utility, then re-install the OS.

OS X Recovery


When you reboot, use Setup Assistant to restore your data.
