apples watch not working

When my watch is on the charger, the logo ill appear and then go off, continually. Off the charge, the screen is black.

What is wrong with my daughter’s series 3 watch? After about 5 minutes, it becomes warm/hot when it is placed on the charger. The lightning bolt blinks red then green. When I take it off the charger the screen stays black. Does anyone have advice since the Apples stores are all closed. I’d like to try and fix it myself before I send it off.

Try this;

To force reset your Apple Watch, press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for about 10 seconds or until the apple logo appears, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.
