Logitech Slim Combo and 6th gen iPad

Same as many, Logitech Slim Combo will not pair with 6th gen iPad, both brand new. Same issue posted a number of times, code comes up, enter on Logi keyboard as written in instructions, then disappears unpaired. No real solutions given anywhere.

Pairing 6th Gen iPad with Logitech Slim Combo My wife and I each have a 6th gen iPad. She has a Logitech Slim Combo. I attempted to connect it to my iPad this morning with no success. I had deleted it from her device list prior to my failed attempts to pair it with mine. So, due to our iPads being the same model, I attempted to pair it to hers again with no issues. With that I deleted it again and went back to more failed attempts on mine. I finally gave up. While I was busy failing, her iPad updated to 14.2. I went to pair it with hers again because I wasn’t going to be able to use it. Now it does the same thing on hers. Something in the Apple 14.2 update has created an issue in the pairing with this keyboard. What the frijoles??

After a 7 day online back-n-forth, they suggest I simply return the product (aka did nothing besides normal checks).
