That depends on what you mean by "supported", and frankly, who you ask.

  • The last version of iOS that can be run on the 4th generation model is iOS 6.1.6, which is not the latest version available, so one can say that Apple don't support that model with any more iOS updates. That said, if your iPod is using an older version of iOS (It was probably shipped with iOS 5.0 or possibly iOS 4.1), you should be able to update it via iTunes. I would be surprised if it is on an old version because iTunes should notify you of available updates when you connect it to iTunes

In addition, if your enquiry is less about the version of iOS and more generally based:

  • The latest version of iTunes will recognise and work with that iPod, so in that respect, it is still supported
  • If you have issues with your iPod, the best place to start is here. Explain your problem and wait to see if anyone can offer advice, a fix or a work-round that would solve your problem
    • if the issue is software, or how to use it, which features will it run, etc., that can probably be sorted out by someone here
    • if the issue is hardware related; i.e. it's been damaged, or the battery doesn't last more than a few minutes, which may require a repair, that probably depends on whether you can find a suitable centre near to you. You may get advice here about that too

You can either post into this thread to continue your mission, or create a new thread (discussion) if you prefer to have a more suitable subject.
