adguard/adblocker not working in mojave

This started 4 days ago, one morning I started my MB Air and adguard stopped working, ads on every website. I thought maybe there was an update I didn't know about so I deleted it, reinstalled it, same thing. I downloaded adblocker to try, same thing.

I ran MalwareBytes and it found 7 items that it quarantined, but the issue is still happening. Any ideas?

Spoke with Apple and they solved the problem, I'm posting their solution here in case anyone else has the same issue:

Something in the Safari Library became corrupted, so they had me:

Finder > Menu Bar > Option + GO > Library

Find Safari in the listing.

Move it to the Desktop and launch Safari, the ad blockers worked.

To get back the important things (for me) I opened the Safari folder and restored:

TopSites.plist

Bookmarks.plist

Then I went into Safari:

History > Recently Closed > then I clicked on the top item and it restored all of the windows I had opened.
