New iPhone SE set-up from home.

We did the direct migration of data and apps from the old phone to the new phone. But at what point do we need to contact the cellular plan carrier to get service to this new device instead of the old one? I haven’t found any direction with regards to this step.

You can simply remove the SIM card from your old iPhone to your new iPhone and the service will move with the SIM card to the iPhone that it is installed in. Your New iPhone SE uses a Nano SIM card and you need to make sure that your old iPhone has the same size SIM card so that you can switch it.
