Cloud Status Waiting

I have a lot of songs that have the cloud status 'Waiting'. Is it just waiting for its time to be uploaded or synced with the cloud? Most of these have been showing this status for days now... Does the Mac have to be connected to power for these songs to sync?

MacBook, macOS 10.15

Hi apfelkopf,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with Music on your Mac. It sounds like you have songs that are being uploaded for a few days now.

You can read more about status icons here: Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC.

"If you see a dotted-line cloud next to a song, then it might mean one of the following:

  • Waiting: The song is in the process of being matched and hasn't been uploaded. Choose File > Library > Update Cloud Music Library to resolve this.
  • Not Uploaded: The song was added from another device and can't be matched. To upload the song, turn on Sync Library on the computer where the original audio file is stored.
  • No longer available: The song is either not available in the Apple Music catalog, or hasn't been released yet."

Connecting to power or trying a different network are definitely good steps to try. You may even want to restart your computer.

Have a fantastic day!
