is there no indicator on the magic mouse 2 to let you know when it's charged?

Open the Bluetooth drop-down menu from the main menubar. If the Bluetooth glyph is not there, activate it from Preferences > Bluetooth pane.

The percentage shown there updates as you’re charging the device. Not sure what else is there to show.
