Can I leave my iPhone charging overnight?

Will it damage my device or the battery life of the iPhone if I leave it overcharged? Is it also safe? Thanks.

yes, you can, phone will stop charging at 100%.

that is how I charge my phone.

Generally I don't, just cause sometimes when using it and charging it can get warm.

I also back up to icloud, so if I leave it alone and don't use it it will automatically back up.
