I keep getting messages on my iPhone that give me a verification code that says "Your Messenger verifiation code is G-0*****", and i did not initiate any action that would requrie a verification code.

Someone may be trying to hack into your Google or gmail account. As long as you don’t respond to that message they can’t succeed. It is your Google/gmail/Youtube password that you should change.
