It's possible to connect 2 macminis to Apple Thunderbolt Display MC914LL/A ???

Hi,

I had a macmini connected to the Apple Thunderbolt Display 27' MC914LL/A, the one with the Thunderbolt 2 cable. Still loving this monitor.

The macmini was getting old, so I just got a new macmini and connected with an thunderbolt adapter.

It would be possible to have the old macmini connected to the display as well? Just wondering if it's posible to connect 2 computers to the display (connecting one of them through the thunderbolt port on the back of the monitor)

Probably will be easier to just unplug one computer and plug the other one, because obviously both can't be working at same time, but just would like to now if this would be possible and can' t find the answer.

Thanks for any help.

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

You would need a device called a KVM switch. There are Thunderbolt ones, that allow you to change the source of the image from one device to another with the press of a button.

They are quite expensive though.

Easiest bet would be to have both Mac Minis close buy, so you can unplug the monitor from one, and plug it into the other.

You can connect both at once. It can't cause damage, even if both computers are on. Display will probably only be seen by the first computer to boot. Having two computers on the same Thunderbolt connection is fully supported. Thunderbolt can be used as a very fast network.
