Apple ID connect to wrong phone number

My sons Apple ID is somehow connected to a different number and not his. How do I get that fixed?

He needs to change the number on his Apple ID. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime.
