Screen time passcode

I’m trying to erase an old phone for my daughter but it won’t let me do it without a screen time passcode which I’ve put in and it’s not recognising it , I’ve entered Apple ID and password and changed the passcode yet it still won’t recognise it!

iPhone 7, iOS 13

If you can't remember a restrictions passcode that you set on a previous version of iOS, or you forgot your Screen Time passcode, then you need to erase your device, then set it up as a new device to ➔ How to remove the passcode. Restoring your device from a backup won't remove your passcode.

If you have updated to 13.4 then follow these instructions ➔ If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support

That is correct. You cannot simply remove the Screen Time passcode without using the procedure for the "screen passcode". As mentioned, it will wipe everything off the phone including the Screen Time passcode.

Now, if you setup your Screen Time passcode while using iOS 13.4 then follow these instructions ➔ If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support Otherwise you will need to follow the instructions previously provided.
