Hey there angeesexton,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand your calls seem to be continually disconnecting after 5 minutes or so. I’ll be happy to help.

Just to be sure, does this happen with every call and contact. Does it happen with incoming as well as outgoing calls?

If it’s all calls, the following steps may help:

  1. ‘Check for a carrier settings update.
  2. Check for an iOS software update. Some updates might require a Wi-Fi connection.
  3. If your iPhone has a SIM card, remove the SIM card, then reinsert it.’
  4. Contact your carrier  and see if there are any outages.

If these issues do not help, check your network settings:

  1. ‘Reset your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will erase all current saved settings, including Wi-Fi passwords, preferred networks, and VPN settings.
  2. Try to make or receive calls in another location.
  3. Switch to a different network band. Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Enable LTE and turn off Enable LTE, 4G, or 3G (this option will depend on your carrier and device model).’

Thank you for the info. I do have T-Mobile with WiFi and cellular capabilities. Not every call drops and it doesn't matter if incoming or outbound call. I did have an iOS update today and hope that will help. I've checked my carrier settings and if all else fails, will you go to your step 3 to remove the sim card.

I'll keep watching for this. Angela
