Wifi and internet connection

My Mac can connect to the wifi but says it is not connected. How do I fix this?

Try rebooting your WiFi router by unplugging it from power for 40 seconds and then plugging it back in again. Also reboot your MacBook as well. See how it performs after your MacBook is connected to your WiFi network again.
