Wireless Internet issues under Bootcamp only (Win 10)
Hi,
For the last few months, I've been having major issues with my wifi under my Bootcamp (Windows 10) partition. It happened somewhere around the major Win 10 update of October. I can connect without problem, but virtually no Internet signal goes through (more on that later).
It works perfectly under macOS, which is pretty confusing and somewhat ruling out hardware issues.
Here's a timeline, description of the issue and what I've tried thus far:
- New Win10 build installation
- Start having internet signal issues at home, still works at work (I work at a financial institution if it can give an idea of the Wifi security standards).
- Start using my phone as a hotspot, which works at that time.
- Disconnected and reconnected the hardware under Peripherals
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver
- Downloaded the latest Bootcamp software package and installed the Broadcom driver. Not too sure this went well.
- Couldn't find prior versions of the driver from a credible source. Not the kind of drivers I wanna get from a sketchy place.
- Noticed that 5Ghz networks were less bad (can't say better) than 2.4s.
- Used different routers at home (actually running 3 different), no improvement.
- Phone hotspot no longer my salvation. Same issues as with normal wifi.
I really need my Windows partition, so any help would be more than welcome!
Thanks!
Dave
