Apple ID problem

Hi there,

I just logged on to my laptop for the first time in probably three years and it wants me to sign in to my old apple ID but i dont have that password anymore nor do i have that email because it was a college email. i dont remember the password or the security questions. I am sending this off of my current Apple ID on the internet but i need to turn off the old one so i can open my current one. HELP!

Thanks,

If you can't sign out, you need to reset the computer to remove the old ID. Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart). Run Disk Utility/First Aid. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase. Use Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button, and select GUID. Quit Disk Utility, then re-install the OS.
