I am having trouble downloading my iCloud photos to a windows 10 device, I have watched several videos all very informative, but I don’t have the options to download from the systems tray or within the iCloud settings.

I have deleted the iCloud for windows reinstalled signed out of iCloud but no luck

Hello alhashmi247,

Thank you for the post. I'd want to make sure I was able to locate my photos as well. I understand you're looking for a way to download photos to your PC from iCloud.

I see you have an "Updating..." message next to iCloud Photos in your first screenshot. Has that disappeared since you posted here, or does it appear to still be updating?

This link has some great information: If your iCloud Photos aren't loading on your PC

"How do I download all of my photos and videos to my Windows PC?

In iCloud for Windows 11.1, optimized versions of all photos and videos automatically download to your PC once you enable iCloud Photos. Open the photo or video to download the full version.

In iCloud for Windows 10 and earlier, after you turn on iCloud Photos on all of your devices, any new photos and videos you add to your library will automatically download to your PC.* You can also download your photos and videos by year. You can find the download button by clicking iCloud in the Windows Notification Area.

* New photos and videos automatically download to your PC at C:\Users\your name\My Pictures\iCloud Photos\Downloads."

Have you checked the path shown above to see if the photos already downloaded? If you changed the location for your iCloud Photos folder, I recommend checking there as well.

Take care.

Hello alhashmi247,

Thanks for the reply and the update! Since the library shows as updating, that would probably account for the download option not appearing. To further troubleshoot, I recommend giving this a look to see if it helps: If your iCloud Photos aren't loading on your PC

Kind regards.

Hi Starr.C,

Thank you for replying.

it still says updating, since I installed on 8th May. The only photos to have downloaded are the shared albums, they are located at C:\Users\ali\onedrive\Pictures\iCloud Photos\Shared

I do see in the iCloud settings I don’t get this option when I select photos

I only get this option

In the system tray it’s still updating, and there isn’t the option to download like below just upload

Very frustrating.
