iPhone SE 2 Live

I have had the new iPhone SE for about a week, and have wanted to change the wallpaper on the lock screen to a live one, since the hardware should allow this. However, in the wallpaper settings there is no live option, and when a live photo is selected, there is no animation. Since this should be an upgrade from the 7, for example, and has the relevant hardware compared to the 11, this therefore must be software glitch? Has anyone had the same/similar issues?

Hello,

Unfortunately Live Wallpaper is not a feature in the New iPhone SE.

Furthermore, if you want to suggest this feature to Apple then please leave feedback here ➔ Product Feedback - Apple

I've read that it doesn't have live wallpaper because that requires 3D

which the iphone SE 2 doesn't have. iPhone SE 2 has replaced that with

hapic touch. 3D is now eliminated from the Apple lineup. it does have

dynamic wallpaper though which is even better in my opinion. Dynamic

wallpaper can be used on both the lock screen and the home screen and it

runs without touching the screen in a loop. Live wallpaper was only

capable of running on the lock screen and you had to touch the screen to

make it run. unfortunately you can't add your own dynamic wallpaper so

hopefully Apple will update with more choices in coming updates.

Understood LobsterGhost,

I actually was able to confirm that Live Wallpaper is not a feature (does not work) at present on the New iPhone SE. I confirmed this by getting my hands on one (Cousin). What I am not sure is whether this was a miss or an intended non-feature. I am aware that Live Photos work however live wallpaper does not under the current iOS.

As an update- I was sent this link by support: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT200285

However, I had previously visited this page, and the SE wasn't mentioned. It is therefore apparent that the live wallpaper feature was implied to have been available for the new SE (i.e. at the time of purchase) but the page has been 'amended'. Slightly dishonest/unreliable from Apple.
