Can i replace butterfly keyboard with the new magic keyboard ?

Hello !

I rcently bbought a macbbook pro 15inch (refurished via Amazon), version 2017 i think

...I feel a little tired of getting random, double or inexistent letters , and having to smash the "," key for it to work. I don't want to use the free apple keyboard replacement program as i think this would be a waste of planet resources since the same issue might reappear later.

Can we change the butterfly keyboard with another type of keyboard ? (like magic keyboard from the latest macbook pro / previous apple keyboards)

Is it possible technically with my current laptop or am i stuck with this horror forever ?

If yes, would it harm my macbook screen when close ? (if it is the only issue of doing so, i can workaround that)

How much would that cost me ?

I've been browsing about that issue and i only find people talking about replacing butterfly keyboard with another butterfly keyboard.

Thank you for your time

The field replaceable unit is the keyboard, trackpad, top plate and battery Assembly. There are no smaller parts available at all.

When Apple has soldered down so many parts inside, this improves reliability, but leaves Users with a dilemma when they need a little more of something. The analog comes from the car industry:

If you needed a bigger engine in the car you owned, say for climbing hills with less strain, it may be Possible to swap out the old engine and replace it with a larger one. But the cost is prohibitive. Instead, the dealer would tell you to sell your old car and buy one that better meets your needs.

Computers are a commodity, are not unique, and they have no "art" value. If the one you own is not meeting your needs, sell it and use the cash to buy one that better meets your needs.
