Settings vs Third Party Apps: Different Free Storage Info

Dear Apple Community,

I have noticed this issue long time ago on my iPhone 6, and now I have spotted that it is also present on my XR. The problem is that the Settings app states that I have approximately 43GB of free storage left, while third party apps, such as FaceTune or Telegram show 11.6GB and 10.8GB accordingly. What is the reason behind such great discrepancy and which number should I trust?

Thank you in advance for any clarification.

Rid of Caches - Uninstall:

Uninstall these apps, then reinstall them --- with all caches gone, storage may now show as desires - having a 1:1 ratio. beside to perform a manual shut down after the uninstall: Go to: Settings > General > Tap: Shut Down

Apps have their Own Files: Caches:

As you make changes, things change, and these changes are historically kept in record by caches.
