Need help to reset my new iPad mini 2

Hi I previously just bought an Apple iPad Mini 2 (off Facebook) and the guy I have brought from has dallaire the ads that actually lost my message with him the problem and I'm having is he's already resetted the iPad but it's coming up saying that I need to log into his account before I can actually access the iPad is there any way that I can get help with this because I'm at my wit's end about it it's now been what 3 days I contact police they can't do anything I don't know what to do if I need help please it's actually for my autistic son so I'm in desperate need to get it started again. Thankyou

There is nothing you can do. You got scammed. Without the Apple ID / password from the previous owner this device is useless to you. Recycle it. Next time buy a new device from Apple directly so that you don't face this issue. It's just never a good idea to buy used devices off private sellers from Facebook.

As Elitegate has mentioned, if the iPad is Activation Locked and associated with a previous owner’s AppleID, without the cooperation of the prior Account holder, you’ll not be able to bypass or otherwise defeat the lock.
