iWatch/iPhone notifications

I recently upgraded my phone from a 6s to 11 Pro. I also have a series 4 iWatch. Prior to upgrading, I would hear text sounds on my iphone and see the red dot on my iWatch. When my phone was on silent mode, the iwatch would vibrate when I got a message and the red dot would be there too.

This is no longer happening and I cannot remember the setting to make it work like it did before.

I want to hear the sound only on the iPhone. I want the red dot to show that I have notifications. When the phone is silent, I want the iwatch to vibrate. How can I make this happen?
