My Mac is 500g, the iPad Pro is now 1tb. I’ve transitioned away from the Mac, it seems that is what Apple wants me to do anyway. How do I backup the ipad seamlessly with no time machine. Why not move time machine to the ipad to make it easy?

there are 2 ways to backup
1) you can backup to icloud (you have to rent space there)
2) or you can connect an external harddisk to your 500g mac and mount it where it keeps the backup files
