Cellular service on watch

can I use my wife’s iPhone cellular plan on an Apple Watch that is linked to my iPhone which is a work phone and not on my wife’s account? I’d want my calls to go to the Apple Watch somehow

The Cellular Apple Watch shares the iPhone's phone number.  This requires the iPhone cellular carrier to support the Apple Watch.  The iPhone carrier charges a monthly fee for this service.  In the U.S. the fee is $10 per month added to your iPhone bill.

This means you will get your Wife's phone calls, you will get your Wife's text messages, you will get your Wife's contacts, you will get your Wife's emails, etc...

If your Wife is good with that, go for it.

NOTE: The GPS only Apple Watch can do  Everything  the cellular model can do  as long as  your iPhone is  nearby, where nearby is somewhere in the same 3-4 bedroom home (assuming typical wood frame construction).  And of course when the iPhone is with you when you leave the house.

So if you have your work iPhone with you (or nearby), then you can use a GPS only model Apple Watch without needing a cellular contract.

If your company iPhone has both a SIM and an eSIM, you can get a second cellular contract for the eSIM and pair your Apple Watch to the eSIM cellular provider.

iPhone Cellular Carriers that support the Apple Watch, which models, the radio frequencies each model uses, and the country where they offer service:

Your carrier Must be listed by name in the above link. NVMO's that piggy back on another carriers network, unless explicitly mentioned, do not support the Apple Watch.
