Are the physical dimensions of ipad pro 12.9 inch 2017 and 2018 the same? I understand that some of the ports are not in the same location but I want to know if I can purchase a keyboard case for my 2017 model that says it’s for the 2018 version. I want to know if it will physically fit into the case

The 2018/2020 iPad models have smaller dimensions because they have thinner bezels and NO Home button area.
The 2015-2017 iPad Pro models are much larger because of thicker bezels and a Home button area.
You need to look for iPad Pro cases made for both the 1st and 2nd generation 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro models.
