Adding music to icloud

My daughter has an Apple music account that she said allows us to share the iCloud. Does that mean I automatically have Apple music? And if so can how do add my music library to the iCloud?

Sandhill,

Not "automatically," but you can collectively get an Apple Music Family subscription:

Be extremely careful about considering this.

If you try to do this, you would have two very different types of music in iCloud:

  • Apple Music, available to the family as long as the Apple Music subscription remains in effect.
  • Your personal music, owned by you, which you may continue to personally access even if the Apple Music subscription lapses, but would not be available in iCloud should the subscription lapse or terminate.

So you would require very careful bookkeeping. An alternate approach is to allow family members to access any songs they wish, whether from your collection or not, using Apple Music.
