iPhone 11 Pro Max will not connect to CarPlay

I recently bought an iPhone 11 Pro Max and it will not connect to CarPlay in my mini. My iPhone 8 Plus worked perfectly. Please help

Are you following the manufacturer manual to place the Mini Cooper in pairing mode?

Have you deleted the old iPhone pairing from the Mini Cooper?

Have you updated the firmware of the Mini Cooper?
