2017 MacBook Air updates.
I have 2017 13inch MacBook Air, and I cannot get any updates on it. My brother has been able to download further updates, but I cannot. Does anyone know why?

Which version of macOS is installed on your Air? Click on the Apple icon in the menu bar and select About this Mac.
Here is an example of my 2017 Air which is fully updated to the current macOS Catalina 10.15.4
If yours shows the same, then your Mac is up to date. When it comes to apps from the App Store. Catalina keeps track of the installed ones and updates them automatically if it finds updated versions.
Then you need to open up the App Store and look for macOS Catalina. There you can start the upgrade.
Before updating, make sure you have a backup and keep in mind that Catalina no longer supports 32 bits software.
May be there are no updates for your system.
What do you see in App Store Updates tab?
There is nothing there. I just thought that I would ask for help. As my brother and many others I know have been able to. If that makes sense?
Mine is only sierra
