Can I upgrade macOS again after downgrading

Hi all,

I have a 17'' MacBook Pro suffering from the infamous gpu failure. This laptop is great and I don't want to have to buy a new one. The only fix I can do requires me to downgrade my machine lower than its current OS, (High Sierra 10.13.6). I plan on reinstalling MacOS to the original version it came with (Snow Leopard), but after downgrading, can I upgrade back again to Sierra?

Hi there, I've recently been experiencing kernel panics ever since updating my Mac OS to 10.13.6 (the last available upgrade to my MacBook Pro Mid 2010). The kernel panics relate to GPU error which seems to be the same issue I had back in 2014 which resulted in me having to have my logic board replaced. I know this MacBook is getting on a bit now and if it means I have to purchase a new logic board, I think I will probably just throw this in the bin and be done with Mac's! My question is, since finally going through with the upgrade to 10.13.6 - thats when I started experiencing these problems and I had absolutely no issue with 10.13.2 (only reason I didn't upgrade straight away is because my m audio fast track pro was not supported with 10.13.3 so I stuck with .2) After realising it was supported with the later versions of High Sierra, I finally decided to upgrade a couple weeks back and since then my time machine backups have overwritten original 10.13.2 backups so I don't have the option of simply restoring! Is there a way I can download 10.13.2 and install a fresh version or even roll back to that version without a time machine backup? thank you all very much!

Upgrading macOS I have macOS High Sierra but cannot seem to find a way to upgrade my OS beyond 10.13.6. Is it possible that my mac OS no longer upgradable?

Software installation: automatic OS downgrades? I just checked the software installation log under system information for the first time ever on my MacBook Pro, currently on 11.7.7. To my surprise, I see it’s continually installed Monterey. In 2022, the installations went back and forth betweeen Big Sur and Monterey. Does this mean all these versions have been installed? I do have software update set to download and install OS updates automatically. Is it possible it’s been upgrading AND then also downgrading automatically? Or is it possible that my system is downloading these upgrades to Monterey but not installing? I have to admit I don’t pay attention much to the inner workings of my laptop (until now). Is it possible to keep switching between OS and I didn’t notice? I’ve attached photo of the log. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
