Control over Charging For Battery

Hi,

Is there any way to control the percentages that I can charge my battery to? I would like to not charge it past a certain point, and certainly not 100%. Is there anyway to cut off charging once my battery has reached let's say 70% charge?

If not, are there any third party apps that allow for this?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 13

Other than manually monitoring it, there is not any other control options possible with iOS. For what it is worth, this idea of “minimizing the time your battery is at 100%” is misleading - you’re talking about minute incremental differences in effective battery life, not huge differences. Charging to 100% causes all charging to immediately stop so technically your battery never spends more than seconds to minutes at 100% capacity before it starts discharging.

People have been leaving their iPhones and iPads (not to mention MacBooks, Mac Pros etc) plugged in overnight, all night, for decades now, without noticeably shortage of useable battery life.

AFAIK, Optimized charging is the only method of "such control."

I did read the article, and it very clearly states what you wrote.

Thank you for the response.

I am not asking about harm and I would not like to discuss battery charging and its relationship to potential damage to the battery.

I just wanted to know if such control was possible, as there really should be a way to do so.
