Deleting songs when in Family Sharing

I started family sharing and the next day I noticed a number of albums that I had previously downloaded to my phone were gone. This is music I purchased on CD, ripped and downloaded from my iMac.

I had to turn off family sharing, iCloud and just about everything else and then sync with my iMac to get my music back. It looks like 341 songs were deleted.

Any ideas why this would happen? Can I really not have my music and use family sharing?

Family Sharing should not have caused the problem you were having.

If you don't have an Apple Music subscription, then it is even more baffling.
