Shared a song via text. They can’t remove song.

I searched for a song in Apple Music with my iPhone. I found it. Did not download it to my phone. But clicked on it, and chose the option to “share“.

I then selected some people to text the share link to. It sent them what I assume is a link to the song.

Three hours later my friend says the song now appears in her shuffle list as the first song on deck in her Music app, even though she never downloaded the song, or added it to her library.

When she goes into the menu for the song, there’s no option to delete or remove it. Only options to add it to her library etc.

Why is this song now in her shuffle list in the first place? Why is it even on her phone in her music app at all? How does she clear it out, and why aren’t there any options in the menu to do so?

It can be removed by long pressing on the track. That should bring up the menu of choices

Songs in your music list can still have options to “add to library” . I have several like this.

It might be in her recently added or recently played list. She might have played it from that.

Or she played it from History, which can be cleared. It’s a bit fiddlesome to find this area. Go to now playing area, tap on the three lines on the lower right corner and swipe down, it’s above “Up Next” - it might have been in that part.

Every time there’s a software update, the instructions change. Looking at my own App, might not be the same to give proper guidance. It takes a lot of swiping up and down to find areas. I’m using ios13.4.1

Why would she have an option to remove the song, if she’s currently seeing options to add it to library?

That would imply that it’s not already in her library. So there’s nothing to remove.

She showed me her context menu. As I mentioned above, it only says things like add to library, copy, share, add to playlist, etc.
