how to clear memory (RAM) on iPhone (2020)

So with the iPhone X came a new way to clear up memory on iPhone since you didn't have access to a home button anymore. But with one of the new iOS updates I can't even use the new way to clear memory which was to use assistive touch. Bring your iPhone to the point before switching it off and then tap the assistive touch button and press and hold home. That seems to not be working anymore. Any suggestions?
