Cannot set up “play music” automation with Apple TV

I cannot set up a “play music” automation with Apple TV. When I set it up and press “test automation” all that happens is whatever I’m watching (like on Hulu or Netflix) will pause for a second and then resume.

If I go to the Music app on Apple TV I will see that it loaded the song I wanted to play, but it will not play it.

If I am in the music app, both “resume audio” and “pause audio” automations will work when tested (if a song is already loaded and paused/playing).

Ultimately what I would like is an automation that will start playing audio on the Apple TV no matter what else it is doing.

I read in a different support thread that this is a problem with the current software in the Apple TV. Anybody have any ideas of how to get this working correctly or if there’s a fix on the way?

I actually found the problem. On the Apple TV in question the “home hub” setting was set to”disabled“ instead of connected. I noticed this when I tap the home icon on the home app on my iPhone and saw that this hub, the Apple TV question, was showing as disabled.

Once I changed it on the Apple TV to connected, the problem is solved and the Apple TV behaved in the way I wanted it to.
