Smart keyboard folio warranty

Hi, I purchased an iPad pro 11’ with the smart keyboard in November 2018 and a few months after the keyboard started peeling. It’s supposed to be a case for protection too. I am very careful with it and I was wondering if there is a warranty for that. It is now starting to look very bad and poor quality, not like an apple product. Is the new Magic Keyboard built the same way? Has anybody had the same problem?

I have the same issue in Indonesia. I checked with IBox, the authorised Apple reseller where I bought the thing only 6 months ago. I showed them photos, and the purchase receipt and they basically told me it wasn’t their problem. They told me I had to speak to their service division. I did so, and IBox servjce

tomd me I could bring it in (45 minute drive) and they would send it to Singapore for assessment or repair. The estimated time would be 6-10 weeks and I would need to pay for the shipping and any eventual repairs

done.

They suggested that the best solution was to

buy a replacement or upgrade to a Magic Keyboard instead, at full price of course. They were genuinely surprised when I declined to do so.

I’m still waiting for Apple themselves to respond to this.

I have exactly the same issue. I bought my iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard less than 7 months ago at a big authorized Apple dealer in Jakarta called iBox. I have been working from home almost exclusively since then and have not subjected my iPad to any kind of stress.

I have been trying to establish how I get this dealt with, and have finally got an answer from them.

They say this is not a defect, but wear and tear from abuse of the product, and it is not replaceable.

Thanks guys. I'll be sure to rush in and buy another one.

I have the same exact problem with peeling! I have an ipad pro 12.9 with smart keyboard. The photo you show could be my keyboard. This is not right. Mine is from 2019 out of warranty now. I am more than careful with my keyboard always and yet the skin is peeling. This is a defect that apple should take care of. I am sure they are aware that the product WILL do this without fail. It is not the right thing for Apple to sell a product they are aware will fail.

I'm having the same issue , mine was the ipad pro 9.7 bought in 2016. Spent on the original apple accessories and now after 4 years, the "skin" of the keyboard is peeling off so terribly that it looks like a piece of junk. Keyboard doesn't fully function all the time as well, sometimes the connectivity just gone haywire and you will be prompted accessory not supported.

I'm considering now either to purchase some cheap Stickers to stick over the cover, or purchase logitech keyboard instead.
