I want to disable the automatic boot when lid is open.

It is sometimes annoying. When I shutdown the MacBook Pro, it automatically boots up again after sometime.

I want to totally stop this behaviour.

You can disable the automatic boot when opening the display by launching the Terminal app and running the following command:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00

Make sure to press the "Return" key at the end of the line to execute the command.

Resetting the PRAM will erase this setting.
