MacBook Air locking me out after moving mouse

I have had my MacBook Air for less than a week, when I opened it today and moved the mouse it will automatically lock me out and make me enter my password again.

this happens when I have watched a programme or googled anything.

when I googled this it told me to go into energy saver and this didn't seem to help.
