Question:

Question: Should I use Trusteer Rapport with Catalina 10.15.4 and Safari 13.1 ?

My bank uses (recommends) the IBM Trusteer Rapport security software.

I have noticed recently that whenever I open Safari, that tab for Trusteer Rapport opens (something related to thanks for installing). I had installed it long ago when using earlier OSX and Safari versions and not seen this occur.

I also see posts from some years back indicating that this Trusteer product is "useless" Safari. Is that the case now with versions of OSX and Safari listed in subject line? Or should I uninstall?

(On a related note, how do I prevent Safari from opening tabs in general?)

Thanks

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

I would get rid of Trusteer. It doesn’t work well under Mac OS. Type uninstall in the search field.

Trusteer Rapport Uninstall

See if anything here helps.

Safari – Popup takes over (2).

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items.  Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies. Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site.
