App Won't Close

My iPhone 11 Pro keeps freezing on an app and it won't let me close the app. This is also keeping me from powering off my phone. How do I fix this without having to wait until my phone actually dies to restart it.

Force Restart the phone:

Press and quickly release Volume UP button
Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF)

See if that cures it.
