Transfer iTunes game purchases to a new Apple ID

I have a unique situation regarding iTunes purchases, an Apple ID, and family sharing. My wife and I had 2 kids. Each kid got an iPad and their own Apple ID. I decided to create another Apple ID account just for the kids to share purchases through (call this "family ID"). This account is only used for the kids to share purchases. I did not want to set up family sharing through my Apple ID or my wifes at that time. I set up family sharing for my kids under the "family ID". All games were purchased through their individual iPads, and billed to the PayPal account linked to the family ID. Fast forward, I now have 4 kids with individual iPads who are all part of the family sharing account. They all have their own Apple ID's for their own device and all purchases get billed to my PayPal account linked to the family ID account. The only members of the family sharing are my kids. My wife and I are not part of the sharing.

Today I bought a subscription to Apple Arcade on my personal account with the intention of sharing it with the other 5 members of my family. I now realize I can't share it with them because they are already part of family sharing under the original family ID. I now have 7 Apple ID's for 6 family members. I want to delete the "family ID account" that all my kids share, then set up family sharing under my personal account.

Under the current situation, when my child purchases an app on their iPad is it owned by their personal Apple ID or by the family sharing Apple ID? If I delete the "family ID account" will all their game purchases be lost, or will they stay linked to each of their own Apple ID's? Who owns the purchased content when family sharing is set up? Remember, it all gets billed through the the PayPal account associated with the family ID.

If all the games are tied to the family ID is there any way to transfer or assign ownership of those purchases to one of our other 6 Apple ID's? I don't want to lose what I paid for previously.

Thanks in advance!

You would have to include the family ID in Family Sharing to retain access to all purchases made using that ID. Since Family Sharing is limited to six family members, you won't have room to add that ID. Purchases can't be transferred between IDs. The kid's prior purchases are tied to the family ID.

Thanks Eric,

After much research I went ahead and deleted the family sharing for the Apple ID I created to pay for my kids apps. Although all payments went through one Apple ID it turns out that the purchases made by each individual Apple ID stay with that person. Good to know in the future, all purchased apps are tied to the Apple ID that initiated the purchase, not the Apple ID that paid for it.
