Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
You can save us asking dozens of questions by submitting a report...
EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…
EtreCheck is a tool that helps Apple Support Community volunteers debug problems without any access to the troubled computers. Debugging problems can be a difficult task even when the machine is in front of you. Attempting it via a discussion forum is extremely difficult. EtreCheck is a great help that regards.
If you search the forums for "EtreCheck" you will find thousands and thousands of EtreCheck reports.

Click on the Share icon and select "Copy Report"
And then Paste the report as a "Reply" to this thread using an "Additional Text" box.
On the left column of etrecheck, scroll to the bottom, click on Report, click in right column, use VMD+a keys to select all, CMD+c keys to copy, then in a reply click on the Add Text icon, put in a title & below that paste the report with CMD+v keys. :)
An etrecheck report may well give us the clues to answer your question properly, or maybe Clean it up.:)
Is this 'refreshing the system' and will it work with MacMini?
I understand from someone who does, or did this, for Apple that you will show me how to 'refresh the system' of my computer, that it will correct the lethargic performance of connecting an URL from an email or within Chrome. As it is now, it takes seconds to open a page, the circle starts and stops, stalls, sometime cuts into an audio if I have music on YouTube, and then there's the dreaded beach ball that spins. Will this correct this and how do I do it?
Thanks Bob. I had never heard of it. However, it tells me that there are no major problems and the list of major items doesn't seem alarming but I don't actually know that as nothing says that it's causing the problem. Kind of back to sq1.
How's it going?
What is an etrecheck?
I need to be sure I'm not making matters much worse perhaps by wiping everything out.
Sorry, I meant the list of minor items...
That is why often it is requested that the output be posted, and people that have looked at the thousands of EtreCheck output chime in and give their opinion.
I have the report but the Additional Text link below asks for text. Is there another way to send this?
Thanks
Tried that, certainly easier but ... too big.
I tried the Share earlier but nothing happened.

Bob, I sent my EntreCheck in Additional Text last night. Did you find it?
I think I know how this works now. (I didn't know that it was in my clipboard, looked for it on my desktop).
