My airpods say they are connected to my mac but arent

My airpods say they are connected to my mac however my music continues to be played out loud. I have never had a problem connecting my airpods to my mac before until last week and I haven't been able to connect them since why is this?

Geting a Flawless Connection:

Pairing is the likely culprit. So, some thoughts...

A. Troubleshoot This:

Try the Troubleshooting Tips on these Apple Support Links:

B. Unpair These Elsewise:

Any other Bluetooth enabled devices nearby? If so, unpair these AirPods from them. How to unpair it, would depend on the item that is paired to these. Look at each item's user manual to find out how to do so (Wiley found on the site).

C. Any Other AirPods?:

Try another pair of AirPods, and see if there is no issue. If not, and they work flawlessly, then pairing is likely the culprit.
