In addition to what Michael above said, here — Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.
You cannot do so like you would on a laptop or desktop. All you can do is use iTunes (or finder in MacOS Catalina) and restore “as new”. That wipes the device and downloads and installs the latest release of iOS.
