Should I leave my MBP plugged in?

Just wondering... If you're using your MBP most of the time at home (due to the current situation especially), would you keep your MBP plugged in to the power? Or is it better for your Mac to run on battery until it needs to be charged?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13

Your battery will never over charge.

No advantage of unplugging it.

The only risk of always on the mains is the fact your battery will last longer 😉 I would not try and over think it.

If you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need portability then run on the battery. Following after that general rule use as you see fit. If on the mains 100% of the time—maybe once a month use on battery down to 50-60% say, for a little exercise—no harm there.

It's perfectly fine to leave it plugged in. It's designed that way. People run businesses on their Macs while they are connected to multiple displays and external drives. There's no way anyone could use them that way strictly on battery. You can keep it plugged in 24/7 without issue. If you want to condition your battery unplug it and allow it to drain maybe to 60% a couple of times a month.
