I have a 23 cinema display model is:Cinema HD Display - M8537ZM/A - M8536,the display has own power supply,and mac mini A1283 has mini display port,I buy a mini display port to DVI ,when connect the display black screen,but I sure the display has no problems,I bought and the guy sale test and show me is ok,so what’s the problem?is the problem about the mini display port to dvi?thanks for all help,I appreciate it

What is the exact Macintosh model you are attempting to connect this Apple display to? Are you certain that this adapter is functional? Are you able to connect another display to your Macintosh with or without this adapter?
If it uses the Apple Display Connector

you will need a DVI to ADC adapter

in addition to the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Even with the correct adapters, it may not work because the later operating systems may not have drivers for such an old display.
Everyman.com they said must use adc dvi adapter,but the dvi is not original dvi and now add its own power supply,don’t know if i need buy adc dvi adapter,that’s very expensive
Not sure the adapter is functional,the Mac mini and Cinema Display i sure is functional,Mac mini i using mini display port to vga adapter connect another DELL display is ok,the Mac mini OS is 10.10
The guy sale this display,i only know it work,connected PC windows 10,so the display have no problem,here is the power supply,I think why he changed because It can use for windows PC

But the display output port is changed,not the original port the picture u post,now it’s the dvi-d out,so I buy a adapter mini dp to dvi-d,and it’s fail,don’t know why
Who changed the plug? How does it get power? Normally power would come through the ADC. Has it worked since the plug was changed?
