Make sure you are logged in to the account in settings, sometimes it requires you to enter your password. If there is no place to do this in settings try remove the account and sign in again

You can check for the password in Settings>Passwords & Accounts>Your e-mail account>Account>Incoming Mail Server>Password. Make sure that your password is entered in there.
