Most of the 'To:' fields in Mac Mail.app for The AOL account are appearing like this
To: AmazonPrime.ˇ
Then when I click on the " ˇ ", it displays my correct email address. This doesn't happen with my iPhone.
Ive deleted the account and recreated it, and tried everything I can think of to get rid of it. It's just infuriating and creepy.

Check your Contacts & also Mail>Window>Previous Recipients, highlight the ones you don't want & click the Remove from list button.
