Best wireless microphone for linking to my iPad please

Hi folks I am getting into making videos for my website and using Vimeo and YouTube.

TWO OPTIONS

1) Someone has suggested Smartmike+ but he didn't know much about wireless microphones, so i thought I would be best to ask you experts!

I shall be filming from as far away as 3 metres and want to maintain the best voice quality as possible without any 'synching' problems with the iPad.

ALTERNATIVELY

2) Is it possible to use 'cabling the mike' to the iPad via the microphone port?

If so, where can I get 3 meter+ cabling without any drop off or synching problems?
