Question

MacBook Pro camera

The apps PhotoBooth, FaceTime and Zoom are giving me the message "no input received from camera." This just happened. Is there a way to turn on the camera?

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.15

Thanks for the reply. Apple Support led me through this step and then a series of others ending with replacing the OS. Apparently the camera has failed. Next step is getting the machine to Apple to check.

Yep. That’s what I’d expect here, with the sorts of software and firmware details that can potentially cause problems for the camera, if it’s not a camera hardware problem. Though this seems to be hardware.

Try a reboot and test, reset NVRAM and SMC and test, then try a reboot into Safe Mode and test, then use the link in the upper right and discuss this with the folks at Apple Support.
